Samsung released two new print, copy, scan and fax-capable A4 color laser MFPs. The 40-ppm CLX-8640ND and 51-ppm CLX-8650ND each have a monthly duty cycle of 200,000 pages and come standard with automatic duplexing as well as a 100-sheet dual-scanning automatic document feeder (ADF). The dual-scanning technology automatically scans both sides of a document, resulting in a duplex scan speed of 70 ipm. Both units are based on a 1 GHZ dual-core processor and feature a 7-inch color touch screen. The new machines ship with a paper capacity of 1,140 sheets, which is expandable to 2,180 sheets with optional trays or 3,140 sheets with optional high-capacity feeder. All-in-one circuit boards are improvements available on both of the new machines. The CLX-8640ND replaces the CLX-8540ND, while the CLX-8650ND is an addition to Samsung's lineup.

All-in-one circuit boards are improvements available on both of the new machines. The CLX-8640ND replaces the CLX-8540ND, while the CLX-8650ND is an addition to Samsung’s lineup. Samsung released new consumables in its new color MFP with improved yields compared to the older CLX-8640ND and CLX-8650ND units. The black and color (CMY) toner cartridges feature a chemically produced polymerized toner and a new chipset. Each separate toner container (CMYK) is rated at 20,000 pages. The waste-toner container delivers 20,000 pages. Four imaging units are required (CMYK) in the OPC drum, and are each rated at 40,000 pages. Yields were not released for the developer unit or fuser. MSRPs are not available for consumables because dealers set pricing. The CLX-8640ND and CLX-8650ND target small, medium and large-sized offices and are available now from Samsung authorized BTA dealers and BTA distributors. The new devices will also be offered through Samsung’s MPS program and other MPS programs. The CLX-8640ND has an MSRP of 6,947.46 and the CLX-8650ND is priced at $8,340.12. | ||
