gapTCO CPC Comparison of Four A3 Workgroup Color MFPs

The gapTCO tool powered by OpenBrand is an intuitive, graphical user experience designed to allow simple and easy analysis of the Total Cost of Ownership of printer and MFP devices. This month’s installment compares the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3935i, the Konica Minolta bizhub C361i, the Ricoh IM C3510, and the Toshiba e-STUDIO3525AC.

At an AMPV of 10,000 pages, under a five-year period of ownership, and leveraging the average public sector price for hardware:

The Ricoh IM C3510 is the winning product with the lowest TCO at $27,806.97, followed by the Toshiba e-STUDIO3525AC at $30,265.24, the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3935i at $30,488.93, and the Konica Minolta bizhub C361i at $35,742.48.

• The Konica Minolta bizhub C361i has a slight advantage in print speeds at 36ppm. The MFPs from Canon, Ricoh, and Toshiba are tied for second at 35ppm.

The Canon, Ricoh, and Toshiba MFPs feature the largest standard input capacity at 1,200 sheets each, followed closely by Konica Minolta at 1,150 sheets.

• The Ricoh IM C3510 features the most robust scan speeds at 150ipm simplex and 300ipm duplex. The Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3935i comes in second at 135ipm simplex / 270ipm duplex, followed by the Toshiba e-STUDIO3525AC at 120ipm simplex / 240ipm duplex, and the Konica Minolta bizhub C361i at 100ipm simplex / 200ipm duplex.

• All four models come equipped with network support and offer optional standard WiFi connectivity. All of the MFPs feature a 10.1-inch color touchscreen display.

• The Toshiba model offers the largest DADF capacity at 300 sheets, followed by the Ricoh device at 220 sheets, the Canon MFP at 200 sheets, and the Konica Minolta model at 100 sheets.
