The new Aficio SP 5200S, SP 5210SF and SP 5210SR are Ricoh's first high-speed monochrome A4 MFPs. The machines are designed to offer end users a fully featured, departmental A4 device that can act as an alternative to A3 MFPs and digital copiers. The SP 5000 family supports workgroups of between 10 and 30 users and features the same controller and processor found in higher-end A3 devices.

Ricoh's new Aficio MP 2851 and MP 3351 are monochrome MFPs that replace the Aficio MP 2550 and MP 3350. Enhancements over the older machines include full-color scanning and new workflow technology, such as Ricoh's App2me and Personal Paperless Document Manager from Nuance Communication.

Ricoh replaced the Aficio MP 4000 and MP 5000 MFPs with the new MP 4001 and MP 5001. The new units are apparently based on the same architecture as the older machines—many of the specs are identical, including the physical size, processor, and memory features.

Ricoh has introduced the Aficio MP C300, MP C300SR, MP C400, and MP C400SR, a new line of letter/A4-sized color MFPs with the features and functionality of its A3 color MFPs. Based on a brand-new, Ricoh-developed engine design, the Aficio MP C300 and MP C300SR produce output at 32 ppm, and the Aficio MP C400 and MP C400SR print and copy at 42 ppm. Paper input is 650 sheets standard, expandable to 2,300 sheets, and all four machines have a standard 50-sheet reversing automatic document feeder (RADF) and standard duplexing.

Ricoh has replaced the Aficio MP C2800, MP C3300, MP C4000, and MP C5000 with the new Aficio MP C3001, MP C3501, MP C4501, and MP C5501. The new line of A3 color MFPs offer some advanced security features, including Ricoh's DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS), which is designed to overwrite hard drive data after each copy, scan, fax, and print job, and various methods of authentication.

The SP 6330N ships with software that makes it ideal for MPS packages that require an A3 monochrome print-only device. To support remote printer and network management functions, it provides Ricoh's Web Image Monitor utility, which also allows end-users to monitor consumables levels remotely.

On March 15, Ricoh Americas Corporation replaced its A4 color laser Aficio SP C311N and SP C312DN printers with the Aficio SP 320DN. The new A4 color unit is based on a print engine similar to that found in the older models, but Ricoh enhanced the new machine specifically for deployment in managed print services programs.

Ricoh has managed to keep the operating costs of its two new machines down, and this will give them an advantage in the marketplace. The cost per page for a black-and-white document is only slightly over a penny, and color printing costs just over a nickel a page.
