We expect to see Oki dealers offer these new low-end machines in MPS packages. The two-piece toner cartridges should be easy to reverse engineer and we would expect to see compatible products available in the near future. Using third-party cartridges will allow dealers to offer low-cost leases.

Oki has revamped its lineup of single-function monochrome printers for small to mid-sized workgroups with the launch of the B700 line. We expect to see Oki dealers offer the B700 machines in MPS packages. In fact, Oki will offer a machine from the new line as part of its "MPS Hardware Series" of machines.

Oki has expanded its selection of lower-end workgroup color printers with the introduction of the C330dn and C530dn. The new machines support Oki's HD Color Printing, which is based on the firm's microfine pulverized toners working in concert with the special LED printer heads, to deliver high-quality output.

With a price point below $500, Oki's MC160 MFP is low-end color laser with many attractive standard features. Like other printer and copier vendors, Oki has set the costs high on its latest low-end color electrophotographic unit.
