 Samsung recently announced its very first A3 color MFPs, the MultiXpress CLX-9250ND and CLX-9350ND, which are based on a brand-new engine design. The MultiXpress CLX-9250ND prints and copies at 25 ppm in black and color, and the CLX-9350ND offers output speeds of 35 ppm in black and color. The maximum monthly duty cycle is 100,000 pages on the CLX-9250ND and 150,000 pages on the CLX-9350ND. For paper handling, input is 1,140 sheets standard, expandable to 3,140 sheets. The user interface is an 8.9-inch color touch screen.
The new MultiXpress CLX-9250ND and CLX-9350ND use Samsung's new polymerized chemical color toner. All the consumables, including the toner containers, drums, and waste toner units, are new. Samsung has priced the consumables to offer competitive cost-per-page figures. Undoubtedly, the company hopes that its low page costs will attract dealer attention and help Samsung win share from vendors that are more established in this market.
Samsung has set manufacturer's suggested retail prices of $10,802 for the CLX-9250ND and $14,498 for the CLX-9350ND. The machines will be available through Samsung's dealer channel and resellers. The new Samsung machines will face tough competition from vendors that are already well established in this market. All copier/MFP vendors offer competitive products, and the new Samsung machines will compete against the Canon Color imageRUNNER C2550 and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2030, C5030, and C5035; the Konica Minolta bizhub C280 and C360; the Kyocera Mita TASKalfa 255c, 250ci, and 300ci; the Ricoh Aficio MP C3001 and MP C3501; the Sharp MX-2310U, MX-2600N, and MX-3100N; the Toshiba e-STUDIO2330C and 2830C; and the Xerox WorkCentre 7425, 7428, and 7435. |
